Olympic struck early and fast, scoring goals in the 5th and 6th minutes, SCC’s Owusu Fordjour answered back for Shoreline, scoring in the 8th minute from an assist by Andrew Powers and then again in the 25th minute on assist by Aden Fidow. Olympic took the lead in going into half-time by scoring again in the 45th minute for a 3-2 advantage.
The two teams battled scoreless for the first 35 minutes of the 2nd half, but in the final 10 minutes, the flood gates opened as Choi Jinsoo tied the game for the Dolphins with a goal in the 80th minute on an assist by Haruna Lairan and then Jibril Freeman gave the battling SCC squad their first lead in the 88th minute, with an assist by Brent Lundgren. Olympic tied it again 1 minute later and then won the match in the 90th minute on the final goal of the game with 30 seconds left.
Shoreline is now 0-2-0 on the early season while Olympic improved to 1-1-0 after a 5-0 loss to Skagit Valley yesterday. Shoreline now has 10 days off before playing Pierce College on September 7th in Lakewood, WA in a doubleheader with the Lady Dolphin Soccer team. SCC does not open up at home until September 11th against Columbia Basin College at Twins Pond Field.
