After a strong opening game performance by the SCC Women’s Soccer Team on Tuesday, a 3-0 victory over Bellevue College, the Lady Dolphins were brought back to reality on Wednesday in a 2-1 defeat to Highline Community¬†College on the 2nd day of the NWAACC Friendlies Tournament at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila, WA.

SCC and Highline fought to a 0-0 half-time score but HCC finally broke through in the 72 minute to lead 1-0. 8 minutes later, Haley Warren scored for SCC to even the game 1-1, but the lead was short lived, as the Thunderbirds scored one minute later to take the lead again and held on for the win.

SCC record fell to 1-1-0 for the early season while Highline improved to 2-0-0. The Lady Dolphins have 10 days off before returning to the pitch at Pierce College on September 7 to face the Raiders at Noon in Lakewood, WA. SCC home opener is September 11th against Columbia Basin College at Twin Ponds Field. Pierce and CBC are doubleheaders with the SCC Men’s Soccer Team.
