Bellevue, WA – The Shoreline men found their rhythm offensively on the second night of the Bulldog Classic Tournament, but it was not enough against Big Bend Community College in a 160-99 defeat.
Big Bend controlled the possession battle with slight advantages in the rebounding and turnover battles. Shoreline struggled to control the Big Bend offense throughout the contest as the Vikings finished at a 68% clip from the field. The dolphins had one of their better offensive nights shooting a touch over 51% on the night.
Big Bend controlled the first half as they scrambled to a 79-42 lead after the opening stanza. Shoreline made a few runs in the second half, but Big Bend’s lead was too much to overcome as the Dolphins ended the night behind in the scoring column.
Shoreline could not find the range from long distance all night, while the Vikings connected on 23 of 39 attempts from behind the arc. Brendan Westandorf led Big Bend with a game-high 55 points on 20 of 22 shooting from the field. Four other Vikings ended up scoring double-figures.
First-year Bronte Crobray (Fr, Seattle, WA) added his second-consecutive 30 point night, finishing with a team-high 32 points on 52% shooting from the field in just over 34 minutes of court time. In his last 3 games, Corbray has averaged a shade less than 30 points a game. Corbray also dished a game-high 4 assists on the night.
Earl Thompson (So, Las Vegas, NV) and Sam Kurk (Fr, Lake Arrowhead, CA) chipped in with 13 and 12 points respectively.
Shoreline Community College (2-5) finished their last game in the Bulldog Classic Tournament.
