Dolphins suffer frustrating loss

Shoreliine CC basketball hosts Peninsula CC on January 23, 2014.Last night Shoreline traveled to Skagit Valley College to take on the Cardinals. In a frustrating game of turnovers and struggled play the Dolphins fell to the Cardinals 77-40

The Dolphins started the game with great energy taking the early lead. After a few quick three point baskets and early foul trouble the Skagit Valley took a strong lead. Battling through the first half the Dolphins were unable to regain the lead. The half finished with a 46-22 Cardinal lead.

Shoreline was unable to recover from there. They were out rebounded, unable to stop the Cardinal 3 point shot and found themselves in foul trouble. The Cardinals were led by Jessica Filtz who finished with 14 points. Sydney Brown and Linda Wilson had 10 points a piece as well as six and eight rebounds respectively.

Emily Wilbur led the Dolphins with 12 points, three rebounds and two assists. Justice Perry was tied for the leading rebounder in the game with eight boards.

The Dolphins are now 2-9 in Northern Region play and move to take on Edmonds Community College in Shoreline Gym on Saturday at 2:00pm. With only two home games remaining the Dolphins are fighting to finish the season strong.
