Shoreline Women Can’t Overcome Deficit

Last night the Dolphins traveled to Peninsula College to take on the Pirates. Shoreline was off to a quick start with strong shooting but could not hold on. Peninsula took a quick and devastating lead that Shoreline was unable to recover from. The game ended with a final score of 52-79.

Sheree McDaniel  and Bianca Benavides started the game with big 3-points shots accounting for the Dolphins first 12 points. It was a close game for most of the first half until Peninsula’s Madison Pilster found her range and game the Pirates a quick 17 point lead.

At halftime the score was 27-45 Pirates. The Dolphins got into foul trouble in the second half and couldn’t find a way out of the deficit.

Peninsula was led by Madison Pilster who had 24 points and nine rebounds. Gabi Fenumiai and Olivia Henderson both had double-doubles. Fenumiai had 11 points and 15 rebounds and Henderson had 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Benavides was the leader for the Dolphins with quick defensive play 16 rebounds and four assists. Breyana Dutro continued with her excellent passing abilities with seven assists. Genia Taylor had nine points and seven rebounds.

The Dolphins will finish their season at home on Saturday against Whatcom Community College at 2:00 pm. We will be honoring our sophomores Bianca Benavides, Emily Wilbur, Genia Taylor, Elise Brady, Hannah Stanger and Chelesea Padgett.
