This weeks Shoreline Player of the Week is Dolphin Baseball Catcher Casey Fithian! This week Fithian not only played catcher but outfield stepping up for the Dolphins. Fithian’s big impact this weekend was at the plate on the offensive end.
During the Dolphins sweep of the Olympic College Rangers you would think he was calling the plays to the Olympic pitchers as well. On Wednesday’s games against the Rangers Fithian hit 3 doubles and a single scoring six of the Dolphins 10 runs on the day.
In the final game of the series Fithian went 3-3 and was walked once to load the bases for Chase Kairis who drove in the tying run of the game. He then went on to score the winning run off of a walk earned by Jacob Zanon.
Fithian is finding the sweet spot just in time as the Dolphins head into their final regular season series of the season. Shoreline will take on the Skagit Valley Cardinals on Saturday in Skagit and then on Sunday at Meridian Park. Both doubleheaders will begin at 1:00 pm. Casey will be one of the seven sophomores honored on Sunday in his final home game as a Dolphin.
