SURF REPORT | Shoreline, WA | Issue 2

This weekend, the women’s basketball team traveled to Portland for a non-league game against the Panthers.

The game was a story of two halves.  The Lady Phins started the game strong and had the lead in the beginning of the 1st half.  However, the Panthers controlled the offense boards, winning the 1st half battle 15-5, while forcing 17 turnovers, putting them up 44-19 at half.

The second half saw Shoreline dramatically up their shooting percentage from 28% to 45% resulting in 33 to second half points.  The Phin defense held the Panthers to 34 points after scoring 44 in the 1st half.  However, 27 Phin turnovers were too much and the Panthers took the game 78-52.

Fatuma Abu led the Phins with a season-high 17.  She added 2 steals and 3 assists.  Tara Bremer added 16 and 3 assists.  Magen Lloyd chipped in 12.  Justice Perry had a game-high 10 boards.  See the full box score and updated season stats on the NWAC site.

The Lady Phins begin conference play at Bellevue College on January 10th. Game time is 4pm.  Next home game is Wednesday, January 14th at at 5:30pm with the men following at 7:30pm.  Direction to Bellevue College can be found on the NWAC site.
