Weekend Surf Report – Jan 12

SURF REPORT | SHORELINE, WASHINGTON | ISSUE 3 | VOLUME 1

Both basketball teams started their North Region schedule this weekend at Bellevue.

The Lady Phins had a hard shooting night, finishing the evening 18% from the field and 12% from the arc.  Bellevue out-rebounded Shoreline 38-12 in the 1st half, 21-3 on the offensive side leading to 19 2nd chance points to win 75-22.

Magen Lloyd led the Phins with 9 points and 7 boards.  Tara Bremer added 8 points, 5 steals, and 4 assists.  See the full box score.

The men’s team faced a Bulldog team ranked #1 in two different NWAC polls along with the best record in the conference.  It was also Head Coach Don Brady’s first game back to his old stomping grounds since becoming Shoreline’s head coach.

Bellevue started strong out of the gates, shooting a blistering 58% from the arc to build a 42-28 lead by the break.  The Phins fought back in the 2nd half, outscoring the Bulldogs by 2 while shooting 52% overall.  However, BC controlled the offensive boards 10-3 down the stretch while shooting 75% from the 3 to win 79-67.  See the full box score, courtesy of the NWAC.

Sophomore Adam Johnson led the Phins with 14 points and added 6 boards.  Marquis Armstead & Ryan Reyes scored 10 points apiece.

 

Next game for the Phins is a homestand against the Skagit Valley Cardinals.  Women play at 5:30 and the Men follow at 7:30pm.
