Armstead, Johnson Named to North All-Star Team

Congratulations to freshman Marquis Armstead and sophomore Adam Johnson for being named to the 2nd team North Region All-Star Team!

Johnson was the team’s most consistent performer, according to Head Coach Donald Brady.  “Even when his shot wasn’t falling, he changed the game with his ability to rebound,” shares Brady.  He finished #6 in the conference in rebounding with 223, an average of 9.29 per game.

Johnson had the ability to shoot from anywhere, shooting 34% from beyond the arc while hitting 42% overall.  He was second on the team in points scored with 271 (an avg of 11.3/gm), 24 steals (1/gm), and 15 blocks (0.63/gm).  Even with all his ability on the court, coach Brady shares that “Adam’s greatest gift is his ability to relate to every person he comes across.  He has a way of making everyone feel comfortable and important.”

Johnson will represent the North in the Sophomore All-Star game to be held Sunday, March 15th at Clackamas CC in Oregon City, Oregon.  All games will be live streamed on Cougar TV. The link can be accessed from the Cougars website,

“No one in the NWAC played harder and longer minutes than Marquis,” says Brady.  “He was expected to guard the opposing team’s best player, he led us in scoring, and we looked to him at the end of games.”  Armstead flourished in the role, even as a freshman, and finished with a team-highs in points scored with 394 (15.2/gm) and  37 steals (1.42/gm).  He also added 15 blocks (0.58/gm) and 53 assists (2.04/gm).  “He has a very bright future in the NWAC,” says Brady.

Well done Adam & Marquis!
