Three Shoreline student-athletes have been named to the the All-Academic Sports Team. Volleyball players Monica Postor and M’Kailah Redden along with Men’s Basketball player Josh Wisnubroto were recommended by their coaches and named to the team by the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC). Each athlete on the list must be a sophomore in eligibility, have a minimum of 36 credits earned, have at least a 3.25 GPA, and come recommended by their school.
Monica has a 3.58 and her coach, Raquel West, says, “She is one of those young ladies you meet early in life and have the opportunity to watch grow and help her make an impact on the world around her. She is a top performer and able to put the team on her shoulder yet not take any credit for doing so.” Monica finished the season with 166 digs and was named to the NWAC Volleyball All-Star Team 2nd team.
M’Kailah has a 3.51 and was also named to the NWAC Volleyball All-Star Team 2nd team. Her coach describes her as “someone who is on a mission to explore life.” She came to Shoreline to “find diversity, see new things, and take on new challenges. As she goes through school and finds her passion and profession, we expect great things from her.” She finished the season with 143 kills, hitting .243, and with 15 blocks.
Josh has a 3.34. His coach, Don Brady, shares, “Josh has all of the characteristics every coach loves: he is on time to everything, he is an excellent student, he is never too high or low but always steady. Josh was a great example to our freshmen players of how to properly conduct yourself as a student-athlete. Josh is moving on to study education and I cannot imagine someone more prepared to be a teacher.” Josh finished the season with a team high 64 assists and 123 total points scored.
We are quite proud of these student-athletes and the phenomenal example they set for their friends and teammates both on the court and in the classroom. We wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors!
