Weekend Recap for Softball

It was a hard fought but still a rough Saturday for the Dolphins softball team, who lost back to back games against the number one ranked Douglas Royals.

Brittany Krampert started off the game well pitching a 1, 2, 3 top half of the first to get things rolling. The offense backed her up in the bottom half putting a run on the board. Team Captain Sarah Casel reached base to start things off as Emily Jackson hit her home. Casel raised her team leading average to .557.

Krampert pitched valiantly but several errors behind her resulted in several unearned runs. The Dolphins lost 14-1.

The second game of the double header the Dolphins showed some improvements against the Royals. The Dolphins got on base 6 times slapping 4 hits and working 2 walks, unfortunately they were unable to capitalize and score. Another bright spot in the game was the improved defense, which rendered only one error. Krampert went the distance once again, pitching a 5 inning complete game. The final score was 10-0 Royals.

The Dolphins hope to put the tough outing behind them and look to the future. They play a double header against Olympic at home this Saturday.
