The Surf Report – September 24th

Phin fall sports took to the field and the court last night in important North region clashes. Catch up on all the action in the latest Surf Report.

Men’s Soccer began the year with 6 straight draws including 3 in the North region. On Wednesday, September 23rd the Men’s team traveled to Everett to take on the Trojans. The Phins struck early and often on the way to their first victory of the season. Clark Murray added a brace (70, 76) of his own and the Phins got their first win of the year by a score of 5-1.

The Phins are now one point behind 2nd Place Whatcom and Edmonds in the North Region standings. Next up for Shoreline is a huge home game against Whatcom on Saturday, September 26th at 3pm. Come out and support the Phins!

Volleyball began their North region schedule with a home match against Everett. The Phins came out fast taking the first two sets (25-17, 26-24). The Trojans came back in the 3rd set with a tight victory (24-26) to force a 4th set. Shoreline started fast and cruised to a 25-13 final in the 4th set to win 3 sets to 1. The Phins’ hitters again showed up in force led by Anya Golubitskikh and her 15 kills. Kristina Nielsen added 13 kills followed by Taylor Alexander Qg16PHiHKcKiur1yi7wr8WoVS7iJhLzh-PeJUgdwWuMwith 11. Setter Carlie Howard finished with 43 assists. A’lasia Redden, Malia Parilla, and Josephine Dalrymple led the defense with 10, 11, and 7 digs each. Quinn Walker and Kyla Pitzman played great two-way games. Walker had 6 kills and 4 digs while Pitzman added 4 kills and 4 blocks.

Volleyball continues North region play with a trip to Bellevue college to take on the 6th ranked Bulldogs on Friday, September 25th at 7pm. Their next home game is Friday, October 2nd at 7pm.

Women’s Soccer traveled to Everett College to take on the defending NWAC champion and 3rd ranked Everett Trojans. The Phins struggled to get a hold of the game and went down 0-1 in the 19th minute.iPZBywpillO3WOvmibxpf09bg68Gmbn_5-wtxuJuXvw Unfortunately the Phins could not come back and watched the Everett scoreline grow to a 0-5 victory.

The Women’s Soccer team remains in 3rd place in the North region and hosts Whatcom on Saturday, September 26th at 12:30pm.
