GUL_21x5blLBzl6OqFr5t2w0dAiQK_HuJN55CKiavcAMen’s Soccer took to the road on Wednesday to take on Everett. The Phins needed a win to stay in contention for 3rd place and the final NWAC playoff position. Shoreline played like a team with their backs against the wall getting a 6-3 victory. The phins got two goals from Clark Murray, two from Victor Ruelas, a goal from Kyle Lewis and another from Bodi Tumurbaatar. Jerry Reyes had 4 saves in the game.

The Phins now have 17 points and sit 3 points behind Edmonds for the final playoff spot. On Saturday, October 31st the Phins host Whatcom at 3pm. The Phins need another win to have a shot at the playoffs. Shoreline will also need an Edmonds loss and a Skagit Valley loss or draw. If everything falls into place the Phins would tie Edmonds for 3rd place and force a play in game to the NWAC tournament.

Volleyball made the trip to Bellingham to take on Whatcom. The Phins came into the match in a 3 way tie for 1st place in the North Region. The Phins defeated Whatcom 3 sets to 1 (25-17, 23-25, 25-10, 25-17). Shoreline was led by 17 kills from Anya Golubitskikh. Carlie Howard had 37 assists and 14 digs. TheszDB7bTJAUJKHk124j1OTDS27vtN5ADlOkpBxT0GXWs Phins had 4 other players reach double figure digs as Malia Parilla (14), A’Laisia Redden (13), Taylor Alexander (13), and Josephine Dalrymple (10) joined Hoaward. Alexander also added 13 kills. Quinn Walker recorded 7 digs and 5 kills. Kristina Nielsen had 7 kills and 3 blocks.

The win keeps the Phins in first place and thanks to a Skagit Valley loss it is now just a 2 way tie at the top. Shoreline is ranked #6 in the latest NWAC Alaska Airlines Coaches Poll one spot ahead of co-North region leader Bellevue. The Phins next home match is Wednesday, November 4th at 7pm. This is Sophomore night as well as Volleyball Spirit night where we will be honoring current and past Phins as we “Pack the Stands for the Green and Gold!”

Women’s Soccer was on the road as well with a match against Everett. The Phins came into the match trailing Whatcom by 1 point for 3rd place. Shoreline held strong download (1)defensively for 66 minutes before falling a goal behind. Unable to create any chances in the last 24 minutes the scoreline would remain the same as Shoreline dropped the 3 points. Luckily for the Phins, Whatcom also lost setting up a huge match on Saturday, October 31st. Shoreline hosts Whatcom for a 12:30pm kickoff. The Phins need a win to secure the final playoff spot for the NWAC tournament.
