Women’s Basketball Falls to Pierce 70-87

Shoreline women's basketball hosts TacomaThe Women’s Basketball team traveled to Pierce College to take on the Raiders of the West Region on Wednesday, December 9th. Shoreline came into the game with a 1-2 record in games against 3 other teams from the West Region. The Phins held a 30-29 half time lead over Pierce, but struggled to defend in the second half giving up 58 points. Shoreline went on to lose the game by a score of 70-87.  The Phins turned the ball over 30 times and sent Pierce to the free throw line 35 times.

Shoreline had a number of great individual performances led by Janaya Williams near triple double as she scored 17 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished out 9 assists.  Darrien Dolquist-Larson led the team with 19 points to go with her 5 rebounds and 5 steals. Paris Sanders started her first game of the year and responded with a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

The Phins play in the Everett Community College Women’s Basketball Classic December 11-13. TheyShoreline women's basketball hosts Tacoma open on Friday, December 11th with a 6pm game against Big Bend. Their next home game is the first game of North Region play on Saturday, January 9th at 2pm against Bellevue College.
