Men’s and Women’s Soccer played their last matches of the North Region schedule with a doubleheader at Whatcom on Saturday, October 29th. Women’s Soccer came into the match having already secured a spot in the NWAC Playoffs – their match on Saturday would decide if the Phins would host their first round match or travel. Shoreline’s intent was clear early as the Phins scored a goal in the 9th minute when Tayler Lime redirected a Makenzie Sjoden cross. Unfortunately the Phins could not hold onto their lead as Whatcom tied the game at 1 with a goal in the 36th minute. Mikayla Morgan took the lead back for the Phins scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Shoreline’s lead was even more short lived this time around as Whatcom tied the game once again in the 73rd minute. The scoreline would remain 2-2 in the last 20 minutes and the Phins would have to settle for the draw and the 3rd seed heading into the NWAC Playoffs.
Shoreline finishes the regular season with an 8-5-4 overall record and a 6-5-4 record in the North Region. The Phins secured the 3rd seed with 23 points and will travel to Lane Community College from the South Region for their first round match up in the NWAC Playoffs. The Phins last faced Lane in the 2015 Quarterfinals when Shoreline upset the South Region Champion in a penalty shootout.
