Our Women’s Soccer team has qualified for the NWAC playoffs in three straight years and in each of those postseasons the Phins have made the trip to Eugene, Oregon to take on Lane. In 2014 Shoreline lost to Lane in the opening round of the NWAC Playoffs. In 2015 the Phins opened their playoff run with a win at Bellevue. Shoreline traveled to Lane for a Quarterfinals match-up and came away with a win in penalties advancing to the NWAC Championships.
In the 2016 rubber-match against their familiar foes the Phins again traveled to Lane. Through almost 70 minutes the teams remained in a dead lock as neither team found the back of the net. When Lane finally broke through with a goal in the 69th minute the floodgates were opened. Lane scored 3 more goals over the next 16 minutes on their way to a 4-0 victory.
The loss ended what was yest another successful season for the Women’s Soccer program. Shoreline ended the season with an 8-5-5 record and a 6-5-4 record in the North Region. The Phins lose 9 Sophomores from the 2016 roster who all had influence and strong performances over the course of their two seasons. All is not lost as the Phins will return a number of talented Freshmen for the 2017 season including Captain Lex Simmons and leading scorers Madisson Lowdon and Careena Alaoui.
