Men’s and Women’s Basketball continued their North Region schedule with a trip to Bellevue College. Women’s Basketball came into their match up with Bellevue in a 4-way tie for 1st place with Bellevue, Skagit Valley and Peninsula. The Phins started their road game on a hot streak taking a 14-13 lead after the 1st quarter, but a slow 2nd quarter left the Phins trailing 19-24 at the half. Bellevue held on in the second half as the Phins could not get closer than 2 points. Shoreline dropped the game 56-64.
The Phins were led by 18 points from Enjunay Jones-Lee. Paris Sanders had a great game on the glass with 16 rebounds to go with her 5 points. With the loss the Phins drop to 3-2 in the North Region and 6-9 overall. Shoreline travels to Olympic on Saturday, January 28th for a 2pm tip off.
Men’s Basketball’s game against Bellevue was a tell of two halves. Shoreline led by as many as 12 points in the 1st half and took a 39-29 lead into the break. in the second half the Phins struggled to score shooting just 28% from the field and 9-22 from the free throw line. Bellevue took a 5 point lead late in the game and the Phins could never recover losing 65-68.
Dana Abe led the Phins with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Anddrew Hawkins scored 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished out 5 assists. The Phins are now 2-3 in the North Region and 9-7 overall. Shoreline travels to Olympic on Saturday, January 28th for a 4pm tip off.
