Men’s Basketball Ends Season in Heartbreaking Fashion

Men’s Basketball entered the NWAC Tournament on a hot stretch having won 8 of their last 9 games to win the North Region championship. In their first round match up with Mt. Hood the Phins dominated for stretches of the first half. Shoreline led by as many as 15 points, but struggled to put Mt. Hood away. The Saints closed the gap to 31-36 at the half and eventually took the lead late in the second half.

Mt. Hood extended to an 8 point lead late in the second half that the Phins could never recover from. Shoreline had a last gasp shot to tie at the end but were unable to get a desperation 3 point attempt off in time falling by a score of 74-71. With the loss the Phins’ season comes to an end.

In the loss the Phins were led by Dana Abe and his 21 points. to go with 7 rebounds. Anddrew Hawkins scored 18 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and had 4 steals. Jacob Perkins recorded a double double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. Ben Steinbreuck led the team with 8 assists. Shoreline finishes the year 17-9 with the first North Region title since 2010 and only the 4th in program history.
