2017 SCC Volleyball Preview

Coming off of an 18-14 overall finish in 2016, Shoreline Community College Volleyball looks to continue its’ winning ways atop the NWAC North Division. Last season, the Dolphins finished with a 10-2 record in North Division play good for 2nd place and a birth to the NWAC Championship Tournament. It has only been a couple years removed since Raquel and Mark West led SCC to an NWAC North Divisoin Title, an NWAC Championship Tournament birth as well as receiving NWAC Coach of the Year honors.

In 2017, the Phin’s are chalked full of local talent looking to work their way back to the Championships. The ladies open up their season at the NWAC Friendlies this weekend in Springfield, OR. The Phins’ first home match will be Friday, September 22nd at 7PM in the Shoreline CC Gymnasium.

Newcomers: #5 Hallie Williams So. Outside Hitter from Shoreline, WA; #1 Mariah Luedtke Fr. Labero from Lynnwood, WA; #2 Alyssa Korth Fr. Setter from Seattle, WA; #4 Hannah Hedberg Fr. Right Side from Shoreline, WA; #8 Yandira Zuniga Fr. Defensive Specialist from Huancayo, Peru.

Returners: #3 Errin Hendrickson So. Middle Block from Everett, WA; #6 Ashlee Conklin So. Outside Hitter from Caldwell, ID; #7 Aliah Kim So. Setter from Shoreline, WA; #9 Sydney Keller So. Right Side from Shoreline, WA; #11 Julia Clack So. Labero from Shoreline, WA.

Need to Know Facts:

  • Ashlee Conklin leads SCC returners in kills registering 73 last season.
  • Julia Clack was last years team leader in returns with 189.
  • Newcomer Hallie Williams is a Sophomore transfer from Bellevue College.
