Volleyball- This week the Dolphins faced off with Bellevue College on Wednesday October 4th and hosted Olympic College on Friday October 6th. The Phin’s dropped the match at Bellevue Wednesday 3-1 despite 20 kills from Ashlee Conklin. Friday, the Phin’s returned home to get a nice 3-0 win over Olympic. A major key was the tremendous defense played by Shoreline highlighted by three SCC players in double digit digs. Alyssa Korth with 11, Julia Clack had 10 as well as Ashlee Conklin with 10 digs to go with 14 kills leading the way for the Dolphins. This week SCC travels to Whatcom Community College in Bellingham to take on the Orcas Wednesday October 11th, then return home Friday October 13th to face Skagit Valley in another opportunity to rise up the NWAC North standings. Shoreline is 7-14 overall and 2-3 in the NWAC North Region and climbing!


Women’s Soccer- The Women’s Soccer journey continues this week with a home match, Wednesday October 11th vs. Whatcom CC at 2pm at the Shoreline Soccer Field before hitting the road Saturday October 14th to Peninsula College in Port Angeles. This past week however, the Phin’s went 1-1 dropping a game Saturday October 7th 5-1 to Everett, the bright spot being a goal by Makenzie Sjoden in the 45th minute her first of the season. Wednesday, October 4th the Phin’s shutout crosstown rival Edmonds Community College 2-0. The Phin’s were fueled by goals from Jamie Beirne her 3rd of the season and Sydney Coe her first of the season. This season for the Women’s team has been a resilient one. Several major injuries have made a road to the playoffs a bit rocky but the Phin’s continue to take care of business when they need to and keep the hope alive this season! SCC is 3-5-1 in the NWAC North tied for 4th with Everett CC.

Men’s Soccer- Last week the SCC Men’s Soccer team visited Edmonds Community College on Wednesday October 4th and defeated them via shutout 3-0. Three different Dolphin players scored goals in the win over Edmonds. Pedro Castro scored his 7th of the year in the 28th minute, Hector Martines his 6th of the season in the 72nd minute and Juan Gonzalez scored his first in the 73rd minute.  Pedro Castro’s goal was his 7th, good for 2nd in the North Region in goals scored. Hector Martines tied himself with Pedro Castro for 2nd in the North Region in goals with his 7th on Saturday versus Everett CC. The Phin’s eventually dropped the match to Everett 4-1. The Dolphins begin a big week hosting Whatcom on Wednesday October 11th at 4:15pm at the SCC Soccer Field and travel to Peninsula College, Saturday October 14th.
