SHORELINE, WA

The 2016-17 Men’s Basketball season was quite the successful one winning the NWAC North Region Championship.

Shoreline’s new head man for the 2017-18 season is Aaron Skeem. Skeem, a former student athlete and player at Shoreline under Steve Eskridge. Coach Skeem will bring an exciting, aggressive style of play to the floor here at Shoreline. Before taking on the primary coaching responsibilities at Shoreline, Skeem also coached high school basketball for several years at two of the more prestigious high schools in the Seattle area including Garfield High School and Eastside Catholic High School. Skeem is assisted by former Tacoma CC and Central Washington standout Mark McLaughlin.

Top Newcomers: The Phin’s are chalked full of exciting newcomers. Terrell Brown, Jr. is a name to remember as you get out to watch the Dolphins this season. Brown, a former Garfield Bulldog is a combo guard who can drive and score as well as hit shots from anywhere on the floor. In the Phin’s lone game this year Brown scored 25 points in only 27 minutes. Shemere Ffrench is a guard from Toronto, ON and is a high flier. Besides elevating well, Ffrench hits the open jumper and can defend most positions on the floor. Ishmael Muhammed is a defensive minded, long and rangy guard from the south Seattle area. He is a 6’3″ guard who is a great defender as well as a good transition player. Point Guard Darnell Berry is a Sophomore transfer guard from Franklin High in Seattle. Berry has elite passing and ball handling skills as well as great instincts. Ty George is another Sophomore transfer from Kapolei, Hawaii. George is a 6’8″ forward who can guard big men as well as get out and guard the wing. He’s a good passer, shooter and will be the main presence of size for the Phin’s. Yegor Garbenko is a shooting guard from Jackson High School in Mill Creek and might be one of the Dophin’s best 3 point threats. Garbenko is also a sophomore transfer who is long and versatile. Jerome Domingos, is a 6’6″ Freshmen wing from Lucerne, Switzerland and will provide depth versatility at the wing and some post. Domingo’s can guard several positions as well as hit jump shots. Kareem Babbs, Jr. is a another versatile player who can score and defend the perimeter. Many of the new faces at Shoreline are versatile and athletic which will help Coach Skeem and the Phin’s play the brand of basketball they want to play. Sam Nasralla is a Freshman guard from Nathan Hale, Sam is currently nursing an injury but will hope to get him back to provide even more depth in the backcourt.

Key Returner: On a team with so many new faces Dolan Tierney is a shooting guard from Jackson High School in Mill Creek and will provide leadership and the ability to hit three’s. For Tierney it would mean a lot to have a fantastic Sophomore season at Shoreline.

On Saturday November 18th the Phin’s hosted Highline College and after controlling most of the game ended up losing 80-71. Terrell Brown, Jr. had 25 point, 2 assists and 3 steals. Muhammed, Berry & Babbs all had 8 points a piece. Muhammed added 7 rebounds, 4 steals and an assist. Shemere Ffrench chipped in with 13 as well, including an emphatic dunk on a lob from Darnell Berry.
